Sketchbook updates!

Hello! Been rather inactive lately due to senior year as well as doing intensive design classes and working on a folio for my pitch to the publishers! As part of the SA Writers festival I will be pitching my book idea in three weeks therefore working on colour concepts.

I hope you all have enjoyed your break and may your world be filled with sunshine!

CDW Masterclass with James Paick and Kevin Chen!

During the holidays I was fortunate enough to be hard at work learning from the masterclass with brilliant artist James Paick and Kevin Chen. It was an amazing experience learning about environments and various unlearned skilled of photoshop from James and intensive study of figure drawing from Kevin Chen! Here are just the few things I did during the classes but I have many more notes from the class.

A prehistorical image which is still in working progress, unfinished due to working on picture book concepts

First ever picture using photo-manipulation with the brief being an old city in the desert. The photo isn’t highest quality due to low res references.

Just a peak at the notes I took for figure drawing by Kevin Chen

Further notes taken on head perspectives

Character design, trying to emphasise shapes (triangle)

Drawing a pirate! (Siamese cat)
